Great Lakes Scrip Center will close for year end inventory Thursday December 29 and Friday December 30, and we will re-open for regular business on Tuesday, January 3, 2006.
We regret to inform our customers that we cannot guarantee delivery of new orders placed after 8:00 am EST Thursday, December 15 before the Christmas and Hanukkah holidays. Orders placed after Thursday December 15, 8:00 am EST will likely be delivered the first week of January, 2006.

We understand your anxiety, and our employees are making a superhuman effort to fill all in-process orders according to the schedule above. However, we are asking that you don't call to inquire about the status of your order... higher phone traffic means we have to divert production employees to phone duty to answer inquiries.

We have recently learned that Del Taco will change their non-profit contribution to 4% effective December 17, 2005. Please update your records and notify your families as soon as possible.
On Friday, Musicland Corporation announced they would be closing all Media Play locations in January. If you have Sam Goody cards that you would like to redeem at Media Play, please do so before the stores close in January. The Sam Goody cards are of course still redeemable at all Sam Goody and Suncoast locations.
We have recently learned that Ross Dress for Less has temporarily run out of $25 denomination gift cards. GLSC's current inventory of $25 cards will be exhausted within 24 hours, and will be unavailable until January 2006.
As an alternative, GLSC is offering Ross Dress for Less $10 gift cards until the $25s are back in stock. The benefit is unchanged at 8%
Our Arby's supplier has been unable to keep up with holiday demand, and many recent Arby's orders are on backorder. As a result, we will suspend any new sales of Arby's gift certificates until we can fill backorders.

This week, GLSC will ship almost 8,000 orders, almost a quarter million line items, and over 2 million individual gift cards and certificates. This is an increase of about 120% over normal order volumes.
A few weeks ago, we advised our customers that we might need an extra day to prepare your order, and we expect all orders now in process will ship according to this schedule. However, due to surging order volume, we are suspending previous order turnaround guarantees until December 23, 2005. GLSC customers placing new orders on or after 1:00pm Thursday, December 8 should expect your order to arrive as much as two days later than usual:
- If you order MONDAY before 1:00pm, your order will be scheduled to leave our office by THURSDAY evening.
- If you order TUESDAY before 1:00pm, your order will be scheduled to leave our office by FRIDAY evening.
- If you order WEDNESDAY before 1:00pm, your order will be scheduled to leave our office by MONDAY evening.
- If you order THURSDAY before 1:00pm, your order will be scheduled to leave our office by the following TUESDAY evening.
- If you order FRIDAY before 1:00pm, your order will be scheduled to leave our office by the following WEDNESDAY evening.
It's important to remember that 80% to 90% of our orders will ship faster than the above schedule, and less than 20% of our orders will need a third business day for fulfillment. However, we urge you to plan for delayed delivery.
There are several things you can do to increase your chances of receiving your order in a more timely manner:
- Place your order early in the day. Our order cutoff time is 1:00pm. During the busy holiday season, our phone lines and our internet servers are heavily congested at this time. And GLSC staffers work on customer orders in the sequence they are placed. The first orders in are the first orders out.
- Use the internet - you can place your order from the convenience of your home. There are no busy signals, and you can order from the comfort of your home.
- Give yourself a little breathing room - If your scrip ordering and distribution schedule is tight, avoid disappointing your organization families by modifying your organization's turnaround schedule to include an extra day or two.
- Check your email or our website for exact ship dates –You can logon at www.glscrip.com and see the status of your order and individual line items. In addition, you will receive a shipping confirmation from FedEx or UPS with a tracking number
Many schools will be leaving for break on Friday, December 16. If you need a scrip order delivered on that day, we advise you to order it no later than 1:00pm, Monday December 12.
