Recently, GLSC made the transition from paper Williams Sonoma gift certificates to $25 and $50 Williams
Sonoma gift cards.
Please advise your member families that Williams Sonoma cannot be redeemed online. However, your
families can place an order by phone, and redeem Williams Sonoma gift cards by phone, just like
the old paper certificates. However, you will need to have the gift cards in your possession when
you place your phone order.
The Williams Sonoma representative will ask you for a Visa/MasterCard, because all catalog purchases
must be made with a charge card. Then, the operator will apply the Williams Sonoma gift cards to your
Visa/MC account.
Earlier this month, we announced that Best Western gift cards would be temporarily unavailable due to
computer-related redemption problems at some Best Western locations.
We are pleased to report that these issues have been resolved and Best Western is once again available for
order.
Great Lakes Scrip Center and Sears will offer a 2% bonus discount on all Sears gift card purchases from
May 27, 2006 to June 16, 2006. That means you can buy Sears gift cards at a 6% discount instead of the

We are temporarily suspending sales of Best Western gift cards because of a Best Western system-wide
computer network problem that is proving extremely difficult to solve.
Best Western assures us that all issued cards have been activated. However, The hotels are have
intermittent difficulties redeeming individual cards.
If your families have issues redeeming, they should have the clerk attempt it several times. The clerk
may also call the 877 number on the back of the card and customer service may (or may not) be able to help.
When Best Western fixes the redemption problems, we will make Best Western available for order and notify you accordingly.
GLSC and the Home Depot® are pleased to offer GLSC customers an additional 1/2% bonus discount on
all Home Depot purchases from May 20, 2006 to June 16, 2006. That means you can purchase Home Depot
gift cards at a 3.5% discount instead of the normal 3% discount for this period only.

Recently, Jewel/Osco advised us that they will be switching to prepaid gift cards later this year.
Because the supply of the remaining paper is limited, Jewel has asked us to restrict the sale of the
remaining paper certificates to the states of Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin. This restriction will go
in place on Wednesday, May 10, 2006.
In addition, our supply of Jewel/Osco $25 certificates is nearly depleted. Please advise your families
to begin ordering Jewel in $10 denominations only until Jewel/Osco can implement their new prepaid cards
later this year.
