GLSC customers in the South Eastern area of the state should be aware A&P, the owner of the Farmer Jack grocery chain, is closing the Detroit area Farmer Jack warehouses.
According to a recent Detroit Free Press report, A&P announced on April 23 that it would sell its 66 metro Detroit stores. The company, which owns 406 stores nationwide, acquired the Farmer Jack chain in 1989. Days after the April announcement, A&P gave workers 60 days' notice of possible store closings and layoffs, as state law requires.
Great Lakes Scrip Center urges customers in the Detroit area to redeem A&P grocery cards as soon as possible.
