In their first full year of operation, Bradshaw Christian School parents have raised over $20,000 for tuition reduction programs using PrestoPay™ and ShopWithScrip.com
How much easier would your scrip management job be if 100% of your families entered their own orders online? How easy would things be if most of your families paid electronically, so you didn’t have to collect and deposit checks? The answer is simple – it would be much easier.
That’s the powerful formula behind the scrip program at Bradshaw Christian School in Sacramento. When Bradshaw Christian Schools began their scrip program with Great Lakes Scrip Center in July 2008, ShopWithScrip.com online ordering was newly available. As a new scrip program, they made the early decision to offer ShopWithScrip.com as the only ordering option to their families With this strong encouragement to use ShopWithScrip.com, most of the families also realized the convenience of PrestoPay convenient, and they overwhelmingly signed up for that too.
Like most parochial schools, Bradshaw Christian was looking for a way to help its families offset the rising costs of tuition. After looking into scrip programs in the area and researching Great Lakes Scrip Center, Bradshaw’s Development Department realized scrip fundraising would work well for their families, too.
The Bradshaw Christian scrip
standardized on PrestoPay™.
As a result, they earned over
$20,000 in their first first full year.
Bradshaw Christian School staffer Jodi L. took over the program when preparations were being made for school to start up again in August and hit the ground running, steering eager families toward scrip. With ShopWithScrip.com online ordering, the families do virtually all of the front end order entry work themselves. And when they pay with PrestoPay, Bradshaw Christian doesn’t even have to accept and deposit their check. Jodi simply approves the family orders, aggregates them, and sends the aggregated order to Great Lakes Scrip Center (all on-line).
When the order comes in from Great Lakes Scrip Center, Jodi checks it in, divides it into individual family orders, and then sends the orders to the three schools that makeup Bradshaw Christian. The families pre-designate at which school they are going to pick their scrip order up, and Jodi sends it there.
When the 2008-09 school year began, Jodi helped families sign on to ShopWithScrip.com and walked them through the ordering process. She also touted the benefits of using PrestoPay to pay for their orders. Most of her families saw the benefit of using the online payment system and used it from the very beginning. It was an easily sold idea when Jodi mentioned the ever-growing list of reloadable cards available through Great Lakes Scrip Center.
Many of the families at Bradshaw Christian love the reloadable cards. Even more, they love the idea that if they reload with PrestoPay, the funds can be available on their cards the next day. “I let people know that by using PrestoPay with reloadable cards, they don’t need to wait for me to process the order, and can have their cards reloaded within a day or two,” Jodi said. “People really like that.”
Even though they are relatively new to scrip fundraising, Bradshaw Christian School is already a leader in the use of PrestoPay and reloadable gift cards. “This is our second school year and I look forward to increasing active participation.” Jodi hit the ground running and looks forward to helping her school reach its fundraising goals – and setting new ones.
When the participating scrip families at Bradshaw Christian School order their scrip, they know that they are directly benefitting from their purchases, since the school allows the participating families to use scrip rebates to reduce tuition obligations.
As a result of their tuition reduction, the families are eager to participate in the program and order more. As a school system of only 1100 students, ranging in age from daycare (age 2) to graduating seniors, Bradshaw has done very well. For the calendar year, 2009, their families earned combined rebate totals in excess of $20,000. This was their first full year.
When you combine PrestoPay, reloadable cards, and tuition reduction as Bradshaw Christian School has done, the possibilities are endless. “I am excited to see how our numbers grow this school year,” Jodi began. “Our families just love the scrip program – especially when they see their tuition bill reduced so much every month.”
